The Atlanta Falcons host the Las Vegas Raiders when they meet in week 12 NFL action from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon.
The Las Vegas Raiders will be looking to rebound after a 35-31 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in their last game to fall to 6-4 on the year. Derek Carr has thrown for 2,431 yards, 19 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on 69.7% passing while Josh Jacobs leads the Raiders in rushing with 755 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns and Devontae Booker has 320 rushing yards and 3 TDs this season. Darren Waller leads Las Vegas’ receiving group with 60 catches on 83 targets for 519 yards and 5 touchdowns while Nelson Agholor has 443 receiving yards and 6 TDs. Hunter Renfrow has 436 receiving yards and Henry Ruggs III has 256 receiving yards while Jacobs, Bryan Edwards, Alec Ingold and Zay Jones each have 100+ receiving yards this season for the Raiders. On defense, Jonathan Abram leads the Raiders with 57 total tackles including a team-high 43 solo tackles while Maxx Crosby has a team-high 6 sacks and Jeff Heath has a team-high 3 picks.
The Atlanta Falcons will look to rebound from a 24-9 loss to the New Orleans Saints to fall to 3-7 on the year. Matt Ryan has thrown for 2,978 yards, 15 touchdowns and 7 interceptions on 65.7% passing while Todd Gurley II has a team-high 610 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns and Brian Hill has 261 rushing yards as well this year. Calvin Ridley leads Atlanta with 48 catches on 77 targets for 747 yards and 6 touchdowns while Julio Jones has 677 receiving yards and 3 scores. Russell Gage and Hayden Hurst each have 400+ receiving yards for the Falcons as well this season. On defense, Foyesade Oluokun leads the Falcons with 69 total tackles while Keanu Neal has a team-high 49 solo tackles and Deion Jones has a team-high 3.5 sacks. Grady Jarrett and Charles Harris each have 3 sacks as well for the Falcons this year.
Las Vegas is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games while the under is 3-1-1 in their last 5 games following a loss. Atlanta is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games as a home underdog.
The trip across the country from Vegas to Atlanta is not going to be an easy one for the Raiders, especially after such a frustrating loss to the rival Kansas City Chiefs in a game that saw three separate lead changes late in that game. However, I’m done trying to figure out the Atlanta Falcons, as just when I think this team can turn a corner and get a leg up on a New Orleans team without Drew Brees, the Falcons fail to get off of the bus and let the Saints walk all over them. I just think that the Falcons are a lost cause for the rest of the year and the Raiders are a team on the rise that need wins to bolster their position in the playoff race. I’ll lay the points with the Raiders on the road in this spot.
